Of course there’s a price, Loki. You always exact some kind of price. It just may not be out on the table yet.
Part of me would have expected Arne to wander off with the two half-sisters, and get up to Mischief.
If Arne was sure they wouldn’t be attacked he would totally go hang with the girls, even if he didn’t know the language. Sadly it’s too tense for that lol.
Oh. I love the lighting. Dim peasant hut, no windows, shadows increase the distance from the only light source – the every burning fire where the pottage is kept. But you can still make out the details in the shadows. The handing cloths, the tools, the herbs. The fact that they are sitting on chests. Someone knows the period.
Not that I don’t mind the occasional chrome clade plate armor knight in the 13 century rocking out to Queen tunes, but it’s nice to see more historical accuracy.
Thank you! Thankfully I have a historian friend I can pepper with any questions. She especially helped with figuring out the architecture for this chapter.

Awww. Poor lass.
Rough day for Hedda.
Well, it’s not exactly in the same class as the death of Baldur, but these days, Loki takes what trouble-making opportunities he can.
Loki’s a bit older so he’s chilled a little but…yeah.

She’s not going to get to go home, I just hope this bonehead realises that his oldest daughter could enjoy at least a few happy memories of him.
Probably too little, too late!
