Thistil Mistil Kistil is a fantasy adventure webcomic about vikings and Norse mythology. It follows Coal, a recently deceased warrior, as he joins forces with Loki to collect missing pieces of the gods’ weapons. Along the way they meet Hedda, an ex-slave, Ibrahim, a young scholar, and Arne, an adopted skraeling. The comic updates every week on Thursdays.

The artist and writer, Sarah Schanze, is a chocolate milk aficionado who likes to collect dragon figurines, ticket stubs, and certain kinds of dolls. Sometimes she also draws.

 

Cast of Characters

 

	Coal A 15-year-old lad on a quest for a fulfilling afterlife. He’s been charged with finding the missing pieces of three different weapons belonging to the gods. If that wasn’t bad enough, he needs Loki’s help to do it.
	Loki The infamous Trickster. Loki normally seems content to sow trouble and mischief wherever he goes, but this time he feels compelled to help Coal regardless of the many opportunities for teasing and mayhem.
	Hedda A Christian girl around Coal’s age. She’s found herself thrust out of the home she’s known for most of her life and suddenly freed of her thralldom. Now she has to figure out what to do next.
	Ibrahim The 17-year-old son of the Caliph of Cordoba. He’s used to a life of comfort and opulence, and while he loves learning more about the world, he’d rather do it through books in the safety of his father’s palace.
	Arne A 12-year-old skraeling in Iceland. Arne is the heir to a chiefdom (or Iceland’s equivalent) and has a bright future ahead of him. Unfortunately his past lingers in his mind and makes him feel like an outsider.
