Goddamnit Celtic Language Family, I know you hate the English and everything involving them, but that’s no reason to drag the Latin Alphabet into this!
I knew a girl named Niamh … pronounced “Neeve” … because of COURSE it was. Czechs like myself may be mostly genetically Celtic (I’ve got a good deal of Asiatic raider in my lineage), but this is a terrible divergence from their fellow Indo-European languages. I swear I’d probably have less difficulty with Dari!
If they weren’t older than the languages my family speaks … well …
