Coal you could still use the sword without using it to slice and dice people. Just don’t unsheath it and use it to bop people instead. Should still be quitebeffective.
yeh, I want that scene where he looks at the sword and says “damn you!”. Its the subtext of several other stories. “Sword of the Stranger” anime comes to mind…

If you really want to see a lot of ice, you have to go to Greenland.
The disgusting thing about combat, (other than the nastiness of it all) is the aftermath of bleeding moaning not-quite dead, and the years of nightmares afterwards…
Unless you are immune to all that.
