I dunno if there was more to this, but I feel like they’re known among Icelanders, if only because they’re descended from Viking settlers. In TMK, berserkers in general have an air of foreignness to them, like something primarily related to “motherland” Vikings. Coal is from Norway, and that would be enough explanation, haha.
