At least the ax got beheaded instead of Ingolf.
I rather doubt bleeding out from being gutted is a better way to die…
But was the miscalculation the fact that Coal targeted a ‘friend’, or that he missed? (Because let’s face it, this is a glancing blow compared to what’s he’s been dealing out.)
I think the miscalculation was Ingolf’s: Holding an axe near an undead berserker.
Holding an axe near any berserker. Nevermind that it’s Coal. Now Aud is realizing just how dangerous a berserker is. Not the tame warrior she thought.
Coal may be in a rage at the moment, but it seems he has enough tactical acumen to realize that the actual threats are gone. This is the berserker equivalent of a cat playing with its food.
And this is why we don’t bring berserkers around polite company.
Can’t take them anywhere.

unfortunately that doesn’t work on berserkers. all you can do is
– drop any weapon
– drop to the ground – try to make it clear you are not a threat
– don’t look us in the eye
-don’t talk to us or even call out to us until our red eyes go normal..
LOKI!!! DO SOMETHING!!!
This is awful :_( I thought two episodes ago that Loki was about to intervene…
