I would give Coal tips for how to ask a girl to dance, but alas, I am also still figuring out how to do exactly that. Like, I think it involves words and holding hands and not stumbling over my own words but I’m still figuring out how to actually walk up to them.

Absolutely.
Technique for talking to girls:
1) approach them.
2) greet them.
3) start talking about a subject briefly.
4) look to see if they want you to go away.
5) continue if they seem interested.
6) leave if they don’t seem interested.
It’s not very hard at all.
But step 0.5, working up the nerve, is the hardest of all!
