Thistil Mistil Kistil is a comic about vikings, Norse gods, and their adventures together (or against each other). Updates are on Thor’s Day.
Who’s a good boat? You are! You are Rollo!
Quick Q: do you make that criss-cross pattern for Rollo each time by hand or have you created a Pattern so you can just Fill it in?
This is one of the first pages where I sort of made a pattern. I definitely need to make a more effective one that might scale better without blurring. Or just avoid many Rollo close-ups. >_>;
Sorry to be a nitpicker, but that’s a figurehead, not a masthead… Very cute page, though! (My cats like to do the loving head-bonk too)
I kind of assumed he was getting it wrong out of anxiety over this whole GIRL thing >>;;

But holding still is *hard*! Seems glad to see him though, conversation with the dock was pretty wooden.
Holding still is hard, especially for a figurehead with the personality of a dog. But he loves everyone!

I don’t know if I love more angry Coal’s face or surprised Coal’s face 😉 Both’re adorable.
Well “surprised” doesn’t happen often so it’s certainly more fun to draw. :3
I’d say that it’s pretty much guaranteed that Rollo will forget to act like a normal figurehead and scare Hedda at this point :p. He seems too curious and playful to resist the temptation.

I think Rollo is slowly becoming one of my favorite characters. Just so loveable! Too bad no one returns the affection

Oh my gosh, I LOVE this comic. This is my first time commenting, but it’s really so awesome. Loki is my favorite of all the gods from every pantheon, so this is so cooooool to me. I also love your art style, and it’s really well written, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Haha, I love that boat! I know some horses who do the head-bonking thing, it’s kind of uncomfortable.
