I love how you portray Loki, he’s very unique from the other gods – though that is to be expected. My Nordic Mythology is very rusty though so I’ll just enjoy this comic and it’s little surprises. 🙂
Loki is not a “god”. He is a “jotun”(in the norse) or “ent” (the equivalent in the Old english). Some think he is synonymous with “Logi” – the jotun personifying sacred fire.
You are absolutely right! I mentioned that when Loki was first mentioned, but since he spends more time with the Aesir than his own people I’m not surprised he gets called a god now and then. I’ve called him one myself. XD
Not to opena discussion, but, looking at it logically he can’t be the same as Logi. after all, how should the dreaded eating contest have worked if… 😉
Hi 🙂
Got here from Wayward Sons, and I’ve got to tell you how much I like it. I like it A LOT! I’m from Norway so I thought it was an interesting idea, and figured I’d check it out. I loooove it! (teen speak :P)
NOES the archives.. they end! It’s a really awesome comic, I always had a thing for loki and norse mythology XD And, why the snakey eyes with the berserker rage?
Haha, thank you! The eye thing is just for dramatic effect pretty much. I had a Guide to Eyes up on TWC not long ago for a voting incentive that I’ll stick up here someday.
I have the overarching story figured out, with each chapter put together and named. I know what’s going to happen in each chapter, but there’s still room for small changes or funny things. Actually the whole thing is still liquid so if I get an idea for a whole chapter I can still stick it in. XD
Yay, I’m glad you like it! Yeah most monitors nowadays have huge resolutions so everything seems really small. You get used to it after a while, but you can always change it. XD
I am a huge fan of Norse mythology, think it started with playing Valkyrie Profile.. Anywho, love the comic and your style. It is elegant simplicity at its finest!
I do have one question though, you seem very informed on the historical aspects of Norse culture- do the purple hats have historical value? I’ve never seen pictures of them on vikings but you stuck one on Thor and Coal, so I’m guessing you have.
Keep drawing, I’ll keep reading!
Haha! Oh man, maybe my art isn’t so great. XD Those hats are actually helmets! Viking helmets in reality didn’t have horns, and if you just take away those horns found on several fake viking helmets, you’ll get a better idea of what they actually looked like. XD Thank you for reading! I’m glad you like it so far! :3
I have to say I like how you remained in timeline with Coal’s reaction to the disturbing of his mothers grave. You do Loki well but honestly I think Freyr has been my favorite so far. He is hard to do and draw but it seems like you got a distinct personality in his actions without us seeing him much. That being said can’t wait to see him again.
Until then it’s fun to watch Loki piss the other gods off.
Haha, Freyr, really? He didn’t say more than a few words! And was on for just as many pages. But yeah, he’s pretty neat, and fun to draw. He’ll show up again someday. Thank you! 😀

Thank you! He’s definitely a curious guy. XD

Oh dear O_o Loki is not going to raise the dead, is he?
Haha, that’s not a bad idea. ;D
Well, he can do Seidr….
and lets not forget that his daughter is the ruler of niflheim (the lands of the dead)
Yes, but would she give them to him or rant about -it’s not ragnarok yet, you impatient …-
Tell me do you have all the history planned out (seeing you have named all chapters) or do you change on like small details as you go along?

Good to know, then i can bugger you with details and my opinion of what would be cool for ageeess>:3
I already loved Coal’s Wallpaper and would Surely Use it. I’m eager to See Loki’s too 8D
I just got a New Monitor, everything feels so… Small D=
Still trying to get used to it .__.
