Having some experience drinking from horns, I can say that drinking from one with the curve curving upwards like that is a good way to get a wave of booze in your face. No wonder he’s coughing.

Haha! I haven’t had the pleasure myself, but I do remember reading that a reason they put the drink in horns was because you can’t set it down like a cup. So you had to finish it, and maids and the like would walk around refilling these horns, so parties would get pretty rowdy pretty fast. XD

It would have been nice to give the valkyrie a name, but well. 🙂

Yeah I don’t really want to give her one and identify her with any in particular. She’s just “Coal’s Valkyrie” to me. Thanks for reading! 😀

Of course, what is referred to as “beer” wasn’t much like what we’d consider beer today – it was generally “small beer” – fairly low alcohol content, but safer than the water a lot of the time.

Also, i don’t think the beer of that period was hopped. (But i could be wrong.)

Just found the comic, BTW – so far i like it.

“And then a drank till I slept, that was a good way to end the quest. I don’t remember what happened next, but there was a goat and a laughing goddess.”

    -Himal, a hungover adventurer.
