Yeah, but she’s doing it in a way that completely sidelines his feelings. This isn’t some field trip for him, this is him trying to preserve some semblance of his own culture.
I am reminded of the new head of Britain’s Tories when confronted by American terms that crossed the pond, including referring to “BIPOC, one of which letters stands for indigenes. She often points out that since she’s got roots in Nigeria, she’s not, but local Germano Celtics (or as north American Anglos and even some Brits say, “white people” are covered by the “i”. The points are worthwhile, but the language can warp them.
She’s got some extremely valid concerns, but yelling is proving counter-productive with her boy right now, and perhaps with her intended, as well.

Yeah but tbh, if my 12yo wanted to go on an adventure with a kid I just watched massacre a bunch of berserkers I’d probably have misgivings too.
Sometimes being the tough parent means doing the thing your kid doesn’t like so that he, ya know, doesn’t die.
